This soft and fluffy apple cake is a quick and comforting dessert, perfect for any season. Made with simple ingredients and topped with sweet apple slices, it’s a classic treat for tea time or dessert.

  • 2 whole eggs

  • 2 apples

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • ½ cup vegetable oil

  • ½ cup milk

  • 1 packet baking powder (16 g)

  • 2½ cups cake flour

  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

  • Parchment paper (for lining the cake pan)

Instructions

  • Make the Batter:
    In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar until well combined.

  • Add Wet & Dry Ingredients:
    Add the milk, oil, cake flour, and baking powder. Mix until you get a smooth, lump-free batter.

  • Prepare the Pan:
    Line a loaf pan or round cake tin with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.

  • Add the Apples:
    Peel and quarter the apples. Arrange them on top of the batter, pressing slightly.

  • Bake:
    Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

 

  • Finish and Serve:
    Let the cake cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • You can add a pinch of cinnamon to the batter for extra flavor.

  • Best enjoyed the same day, but keeps moist for 2 days covered.

  • Try with pears or peaches as a variation.

  • Great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
